and he has 3 years and 11 months remaining of eligibility. He must have dropped out after
one semester.
1949 Formed, with Leroy Ussery, the Guaranty Savings & Life Insurance Company in Gadsden,
Alabama. He was Secretary and later VP, among other titles.
1949 2nd son Lewis Daniel Gallagher born in Gadsden, AL (Herzburg Circle)
delivered by W. O. Anderson at the Baptist Hospital
1950 Jan Moved to Decatur to open a Branch Office for Guaranty Savings. They rented the house
on the hill by Francis & Dub Shaw, and stayed there for 18 months.
1951 May moved back to the house in Gadsden for six months (were they renting it?)
1951 June 9 3rd son Ralph Patrick Gallagher born in Gadsden, AL (Herzburg Circle)

company was formed - Mid South Life Insurnace Co., and Harry was 1st VP

Xmas. I remember that houston was the only place we moved during the school year; however
her note indicates that harry joined Harvey aluminum in aug 1960?)
1961 Aug (mom's note has August 1960) joined Harcraft Brass Division of Harvey Aluminum Co. as
Eastern Sales Manager and moved to Rockledge Rd. Atlanta, GA
1962 Aug moved to 6401 Falkirk Rd., Baltimore, MD.
1964 Jul moved to Darrow St in South River, NJ
1964 Harry E Gallagher, JR finishes High School, Baltimore City College and starts at University of Maryland
1965 Aug 9 died in Louisville, KY on business trip with wife and son Daniel

U.S. Army Enlistment: Joined the U.S. Army, 16 Oct 1941, Fort Mcpherson, Atlanta, , Georgia. Appears he joined the Army in the Warrant Officers Branch, but was listed as a Private in the U.S. World War II Ary enlistment Records, 1938-1946. This record also indicates that he had four years of high school and was semi-skilled in mechanics and repair, motor vehicles. He was 67" tall and 138 pounds.

Relocation: Insurance to Plumbing Hardware transition and a new territory, Mar 1959-Jan 1960, Dallas, , Texas. Lived in an apartment for a year before moving into the double, pecan covered lot by the railroad tracks.

Relocation: Promotions continue o drive relocations, Jan 1960-Jun 1960, Houston, , Texas. This was a six month stop

Relocation: SE Regional Manager moves again, Jun 1960-1962, Atlanta, , Georgia. Daniel finishing Elementary School. Walked or rode bike and signed up for road crossing duties

Relocation: Harry now East Cost Manager for Harcraft Brass - move to center of region, 1962-Aug 1964, Baltimore, , Maryland. Daniel attended Woodburne Junior High School here. Rode bike to school down the alleys with Randy. Remeber being let out of school early the day Kennedy was shot, and hearing on my portable radio as I walked home that he had died.

Relocation: Harry's last promotion to East Coast District Manager and move again, Aug 1964-1966, South River, Middlesex, New Jersey. Moved into a rental house on Darrow Street, next to Daily's Pond. Danny started and finished High School at South River High School. Was on the football team sophmore an senior years (never got on the field except in JV games as Sophmore).
Ralph finished Junior High and High School in South River.
Jay had already started at the University of Maryland and did not make the move.

Relocation: Purchased house after Harry's death to be near school, 1966, South River, Middlesex, New Jersey.
